CAC 2026 and Preconference

It was great seeing everyone at CAC 2026 at Wayne State University on March 14, 2026! Many thanks to keynote speaker Francis Su⇗ and the entire WSU planning team for hosting such a wonderful event.

The conference theme, Empowering Teachers to Flourish, aimed to engage teacher educators, mathematicians, and teachers to explore and examine professional learning opportunities so mathematics teaching and learning environments flourish.

The free preconference workshop, Transforming Michigan Mathematics Teacher Preparation for a Data Science & Statistics Future, featured ASA’s Kaycie Maddox⇗, who shared information and led activities regarding the forthcoming (mid-2026) SET II Report. It also included opportunities to hear from teachers, teacher leaders, and mathematics teacher educators about their work to improve data science and statistics education in Michigan.
