Call for Proposals - Empowering Teachers to Flourish
The »Conversation Among Colleagues (CAC) 2026 conference will be hosted by Wayne State University on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Our conference theme is “Empowering Teachers to Flourish.” Through this theme, we aim to engage teacher educators, mathematicians, and teachers to explore and examine professional learning opportunities, so mathematics teaching and learning environments flourish.
The planning committee welcomes presentations that will facilitate discussions surrounding this year’s theme, “Empowering Teachers to Flourish.” Sessions will be approximately 45 minutes in length. We are especially interested in presentations that touch on the following driving questions:
How do teachers' learning needs change across their careers?
How can teacher education programs support a growth mindset for teachers to flourish?
How might university mathematics education researchers and in-service teachers collaborate around ongoing professional learning?
How do mathematicians and mathematics educators initiate and sustain collaborations regarding university mathematics instruction?
How might mathematicians and mathematics educators initiate and sustain collaborations in teacher education?
Given the current educational climate, how do mathematicians and mathematics educators continue to flourish and thrive in and out of the classroom?
